The role of the occupational therapist for children with mental disability aged from five to eighteen. Subtitle: Using reconditioning stay

The bachelor's work is particularly concerned with occupational therapy intervention in children with mental disabilities. The work has two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical section describes the types of mental disability and occupational therapy (the relationship between occupational therapy and children with mental disabilities). The concept of reconditioning is also discussed in this section. The following is a description of occupational therapy methods, techniques and approaches that are suitable for designing an occupational therapy reconditioning program. In the practical section there is a description of the two reconditioning stays completed, followed by a comparison. Unstructured conversations are used here, thereby establishing awareness of the field of occupational therapy in the non-profit sector. The talks were attended by workers involved in the running of reconditioning stays. In addition, two reconditioning stays are monitored with detailed observation. Based on a comparison of these reconditioning stays, an occupational therapy reconditioning programme is established with children with mental disabilities aged between five and eighteen.
