From the publication: "This mining directory — the first ever issued in the Territory — has been difficult of compilation, but after months of careful preparation is presented to the public as a work that furnishes a ready guide to any mining property of importance located between the long boundary lines of Yavapai county. The selection of the more prominent mines and groups of mines, including a complete list of all patented claims and those surveyed for patent on record in the United States Land Office has been so arranged as to afford easy reference.
