The research in precious metals market was carried in the period 2010–2016. This market offers a wide range of instruments. An indirect investment dominates a direct investment in precious metals. This article is limited only to analysis of precious metals funds. This article presents instruments available to individual clients. Investors could improve portfolio performance considerably by adding a significant exposure to the precious metals market.W artykule przedstawiono sytuację na rynku metali szlachetnych w latach 2010–2016. Rynek metali szlachetnych oferuje inwestorom szeroką gamę instrumentów. W pierwszej kolejności omówiono możliwości inwestycji bezpośrednich w metale szlachetne oraz dokonano oceny ich atrakcyjności. Następnie wskazano na możliwości inwestycji pośrednich przy wykorzystaniu funduszy ETF, które stanowią atrakcyjne narzędzie, za pomocą którego inwestorzy indywidualni mogą włączyć ekspozycję na rynek metali szlachetnych do swoich portfeli inwestycyjnych.
