The paper is devoted to studies, research and teaching of Professor Józef Mazurkiewicz, the eminent historian of law, at the Catholic University of Lublin. In 1922, he began studying at the Faculty of Law and Social-Economic Sciences. He attended a seminar on the history of law in Western Europe led by prof. Joseph Rafacz. In 1927, after the deposit of state exams, J. Mazurkiewicz received a Master’s degree in law. In the years 1926–1929 he studied history at the Faculty of Humanities of the Catholic University of Lublin. At the same time he was a trainee court, which ended submitting judicial examination, and after completing his military service he completed advocate.
