Goree, discussing the health of his two brothers Edwin and Langston. Thomas also explains his troupbles in acquiring a commission, due to one of General Longstreets in-laws. He expalins, Longstreet's in-law Captain Walton has tried to attain the commission, through a loophole, without any mention of it. General Longstreet shows his loyalty to Goree and manages to get Goree commissioned, with some difficulty
