Contratismo de maquinaria agrícola en la región pampeana. Organización del trabajo y estrategias de capitalización

The first agricultural contractor in the Pampas appeared around the mid-nineteenth century, but custom farming became particularly relevant in the last two decades. Who are these subjects? How do they organize their work? And how do they capitalize? Based on papers, books and in-depth interviews in the area under study and relying on quantitative data from different data sources, the paper aims at answering the questions raised. Throughout the work, we will see that the relationship with the means of production and the level of capitalization are relevant to understand the behaviour of these people. Knowing the habitus will also be essential to understand capitalization channels, the internal organization of the company and the contractor´s relationship with the land.El contratismo de maquinaria agrícola en la Región Pampeana, si bien data de mediados del siglo XIX, cobra particular relevancia en esta región durante las últimas décadas. ¿Quiénes son estos sujetos? ¿Cómo organizan su trabajo? ¿Cómo se capitalizan? Son los interrogantes principales que abordaremos en este trabajo. Sobre la base de bibliografía, entrevistas en profundidad y apoyándonos en datos cuantitativos provenientes de distintas fuentes estadísticas; mostraremos cómo no sólo la relación con los medios de producción y el nivel de capitalización son relevantes para comprender el accionar de los sujetos. Conocer sus habitus -según un pasado chacarero cercano o no- será un elemento esencial para comprender las estrategias de capitalización, el modo de organizar internamente la empresa y la relación con la tierra que establecen estos contratistas
