Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is produced in the Earth s crust as a result of alpha-decay of radium and is free to migrate through soil, either by molecular diffusion or by advection, and be released to the atmosphere where his behavior and distribution are mainly governed by meteorological processes.
