This paper is an analysis of "Jogaku Zasshi", (The Woman\u27s Education Magazine) and of Yoshiharu Iwamoto\u27s concept of "Lifelong Education". In this paper I analyse Jogaku Zasshi as an examle of printed texts in lifelong education during the Meiji Period (1868-1912). Jogaku Zasshi was a typical general magazine for ambitious women of those days and at the same time, some educational texts were presented for housewives and women who began learning late in life at the time. Jogaku Zasshi had various characteristics and regularly printed unique articles, for example, women\u27s rights, abolition of prostitution, prohibition of alcohol, education of women, literary criticism, housekeeping and first aid.
