Student mobility is a complex phenomenon that has been defined in various ways in research: transfer, swirling, double-dipping, and zig-zag (Adelman, 2006; McCormick, 2003; Townley, Katz, Wandersman, Skiles, Schillaci, Timmerman & Mousseau, 2013).
