Concrete is made up of three components: Portland cement, aggregate, and water. CaCO3 Cement “Glue” in concrete. Cement is vital in construction because of its ability to hold the structure together and aid in providing the strength necessary to support stresses and strains. One of concrete’s major setbacks is the lack of long term durability. The end goal is to incorporate bacteria and its nutrient in the concrete by mixing and then letting it set. The concrete should have everything necessary to heal itself without human intervention.
