The goal of this research is to increase the understanding of changes in the hydrological and carbon cycles in response to global warming. Global oceanic recycling rate, along with meteorological variables are analyzed using the thirteen Coupled Models Inter-comparison Project (CMIP5) data from 1988 to 2008. On a worldwide scale, there has been a long-term decreasing trend of the global average oceanic recycling rate. On a regional scale, there are positive trends of the recycling rate over the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and negative trends over the sub-tropical dry areas.
