Sketch of an elephant skull. Although the references in pop culture and personal associations with elephants are numerous, many cultures treat elephants with great reverence. They are admired for their intelligence, memory, and strength, serving as symbols of wisdom and power. In this work we see only the skull of the elephant, perhaps a reminder of mortality, transformation, and change. Elephant is a print created as part of the 2012 Wild Ink Print Exchange. Faculty and students from the University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Montana, University of Wyoming, and University of North Dakota took part in the exchange.
