This paper aims to discuss the mystery of the Javanese dwelling holding emphasis on the space concept through the cultural knowledge of the Javanese people%2C comprising of beliefs and rituals that appear to be closely related to both the space orientation and the space configuration. There are a lot of evidences that support the fact that the space in the architecture of the Javanese traditional dwelling is not value-free.
