UND Nursing Grads Post 98.1% NCLEX Pass Rate for Second Quarter

Abstract

One of the final steps in becoming a licensed nurse is sitting for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing’s (NCSBN) NCLEX licensing examination which tests a nurses’ knowledge and aptitude in safe effective care environments, health promotion and maintenance, psychosocial integrity, and physiological integrity. UND’s May nursing graduates, who took the exam from May to June 2015, posted an impressive 98.1% passing rate for this quarter. Out of 53 students taking the exam, 52 of UND’s students passed on the first attempt. According to the NCBSN, the national average for passing the examination on the first attempt during the second quarter was 85.7%.
