No-Shave November

This November, four staff members from the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines participated in No-Shave November to raise awareness and research funding for men\u27s health issues. Jake Chaput, Tom Miller, Zach Buchhop and David Braz agreed to forgo shaving for 30 days. The goal was to raise as much money as possible, and as an incentive, they offered to shave their facial hair into increasingly ridiculous styles depending on the amount of money raised. In the end, $300 of donations was sent to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to aid in research for treatment and hopefully, one day, a cure for prostate cancer. The $300 mark was good enough for The Franco, a simple moustache credited to James Franco. All four staff members came to work on Monday, December 2nd sporting their new look. Tom Miller, the Chief Business Officer for the College, began discussing participation in No-Shave November last spring. After some discussion, the Jake, Zach and David agreed it was for a worthwhile cause. Plans are already underway for next November as the guys are considering a variety of ways to shake up the activity and bring in more awareness and funds for the cause. Ideas include \u27pin the facial hair style on the staff member,\u27 in which the staff member who raises the most money will come to work in December with a fashionable new style. The staff member may even allow the top donor the honor of shaving the winner in front of the rest of the College. Electric razors only, of course. The guys are committed to raising funds, but they aren\u27t crazy
