UND alumnus Charles E. Murry, who currently works at the University of Washington, Seattle, will present Regenerating the Heart: A Journey from Chemistry Major to Stem Cell Biologist, at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, in Room 138 of Abbott Hall, on the University of North Dakota campus. There will be a reception at 3:15 p.m. in 232 Abbott Hall prior to the lecture. All are welcome. Since 1996, the Murry lab has worked to understand the mechanisms that underlie cardiovascular disease and to develop new treatments. They have a longstanding interest in the biology of myocardial infarction (heart attacks), and in particular, how the heart heals after infarction.
