¿Y las mujeres dónde están? Una otra mirada al sindicalismo rural en Uruguay

Since 2005, with the change of government administration and the expansion of rights for the rural sector, many investigations have focused on rural unions. So far, however, these have not wondered where women are. In this article, I make explicit a feminist perspective in research. I look forward to have an impact on problematizing other struggles within rural unionism, where the forgotten of the earth become protagonists. This research interrogates what happens when the image of a union stops beings materialized in the figure of a male worker, when we focus on searching for where women are and what actions they are taking in their struggle against exploitation. In this way, this research investigates the constraints they face as female workers in their experience of struggle. To answer these questions, this research analyzes acts of insubordination experienced by women who work in the rural phase of the citrus sector in Uruguay, in the locality of Paysandú. In the analysis of their struggle as women, within another struggle as members of rural unions, and widening the approach with a look at the broader trade union movement, there is evidence that the problem brought into consideration here is not a women’s issue, but a feminist issue.Desde 2005 con el cambio de gobierno y la ampliación de derechos para el sector rural uruguayo, han cobrado interés las investigaciones sobre el sindicalismo rural. Hasta el momento, sin embargo, no se han preguntado dónde están las mujeres. En este artículo se hace explícita la adopción de una perspectiva feminista en la investigación, buscando incidir en la problematización de otras luchas dentro del sindicalismo rural, en las que cobran protagonismo las olvidadas de la tierra. La investigación se pregunta qué sucede cuando la imagen de la organización sindical deja de estar corporizada en un varón, cuando indagamos dónde están las mujeres, y cuando nos preguntamos por las acciones que despliegan en la lucha contra su explotación. Se pregunta así por las limitantes que enfrentan en sus experiencias de lucha, como trabajadoras rurales mujeres. Para responder a estas preguntas, se recurre al análisis de las acciones de insubordinación de mujeres que trabajan en la fase rural de la citricultura uruguaya en el departamento de Paysandú. Al analizar su lucha –de mujeres- dentro de la lucha –como integrantes de organizaciones sindicales y ampliando la mirada al movimiento sindical uruguayo, se deja en evidencia que las problemáticas planteadas no se trata de una cuestión de mujeres sino de una cuestión feminista
