Vivienda y crédito en Argentina: evolución y dinámica del financiamiento habitacional entre 1936 y 1945

This article is about the general evolution of the credit market for homes in Argentina between 1936 and 1945. From statistical information, the article analyze its composition and characteristics, as well as problematize the strategies of its main actors. We consider that this work not only contributes to problematizing urban mortgage market’s functioning, but also it covers a historiographical gap, because even the historiography recognize its gravitation, credit for housing has been little studied. In addition, this research will also provide new inputs to analize the dynamic of entrepreneurs in this sector and the intervention of the State on a key segment for the credit’s functioning, as well as for the public policies. Apartir de información estadística estudia su composición y características así como las estrategias de sus principales actores. Consideramos que este trabajo no sólo contribuye a problematizar el funcionamiento del mercado hipotecario urbano, sino también a cubrir un vacío historiográfico, pues aún reconociendo su gravitación, el crédito para viviendas ha sido poco estudiado. Además esta investigación pretende aportar nuevos insumos para analizar la dinámica de los empresarios del sector y de la intervención del Estado sobre un segmento clave tanto para el funcionamiento del crédito como para las políticas públicas.
