Students gather for the Kent State Rally on May 5, 1970. May 4, 1970, members of the Ohio National Guard fired into a crowd of demonstrators at Kent State, killing 4 and wounding 9. The event triggered a nation wide student strike. UND became a part of these strikes. On May 5, 1970, 500 people showed up for a rally, and 150 stayed for the Strike.
