Melvin A. Brannon was hired as Professor of Biology (1894-1914) while also serving as curator of the museum (1894-1911). He was appointed Dean of the College of Medicine (1904-1911). He resigned (1914) to take the position of President of the University of Idaho and then as President of Beloit College in Wisconsin (1917).
