EFFECT OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF TRIMESTER III PREGNANT WOMEN ON THE LEVEL ANXIETY FACING LABOR IN PMB MARIANA INGIN JAYA ACEH BESAR

Pregnant women are largely in a state of anxiety when the third trimester because worry about the labor process that he will face. WHO data (2010) shows that about 5% of nonpregnant women experience anxiety, 8-10% during pregnancy, and increase to 13% before labor. About 28.7% of pregnant women in Indonesia experience anxiety in facing labor. The incidence of depression in Aceh almost reached 5%, while in Aceh Besar it reached 9.8%. Research Objectives to determine the effect of the characteristics of ttrimester III pregnant women on the level anxiety facing labor in the PMB Mariana Ingin Jaya, Aceh Besar. This research is analytical withapproach cross sectional. The sample in this study were trimester III pregnant women who conducted an examination in Mariana PMB of Ingin Jaya Aceh Besar, amounting to 36 people. Test results Chi-Square showed that there was an effect of age on the level of anxiety in facing labor (p = 0.005), there was an influence of education on the level of anxiety in facing labor (0.015) and there was an effect of parity on the level of anxiety in facing labor (p = 0.012). There was not effect of work on the level of anxiety in in facing labor (p = 0.065). Conclusions and Suggestions: Age, education and parity increasethe level of anxiety experienced by pregnant women in facing labor. For this reason, it is expected that mothers can increase their knowledge about the labor process so that they do not feel anxious in facing labor.
