Control of distributed parameter systems and nonlinear systems is discussed with application to aerospace engineering. Design techniques of stabilizing control laws are developed for distributed parameter systems that embody large space structures, and a real-time optimizarion technique is proposed for optimal feedback control of general nonlinear systems. Stabilizing control laws are designed for general mechanical systems based on Lyapunov\u27s method. The proposed control laws include not only a constant-gain feedback but also such frequency-dependent feedback that involves positive-real filters, observers, or prefilters.
