Categorization and Future Direction of Recoveries by Tourism

Recently, as tourism has started to be recognized as one of the main industries, the necessity of discussing the positioning of tourism in recovery processes has risen. Among the areas whose main industry before a disaster was tourism, there are places which failed to economically recover due to bad rumors. On the other hand, some communities have worked hard after a disaster and achieved regional development that went beyond economic recovery. Moreover, some places which had never been tourist sites have been focusing on tourism after a disaster. In this paper, I would like to review the recovery processes from a standpoint of tourism industry, and propose what role the tourism industries should play. Finally, the future direction about tourism in disasterareas will be represented
