The Champion YMCA bowling league was first organized in 1952, and within a few years the league became so popular games were held in Asheville. In 1958, the Y had 5 ladies' teams and 6 men's teams playing for 25 weeks with an annual awards banquet in March. This photograph shows the Finishing Department team (left to right) R. L. Penley, L.
