This 1921 photograph shows the construction of the book mill to house the number 14 machine. Despite the depression of 1920-1921, construction on the building was well under way in July of 1921. The building, designed for expansion, is 437 feet long, 57 feet wide, and 50 feet high. The machine’s completion will mark the beginning of Champion’s ability to convert their wood pulp product into paper
