In 1955, The Log spent a few hours with Adam Scott who is one of 550 people hauling wood to Champion as a truck wood hauler. More than 25% of Champion’s daily requirement of 1,600 cords is received from local truckers who come from on average 22 miles away and as far as 70 miles. In this photograph, members of Scott’s crew cut a log into five-foot lengths to put on the truck. More information about this photograph can be found in Champion publication The Log.
