The paperpresentsthedesignandsomesimulatedresultsoftheattitudecontrolofasatelliteformation under studybytheEuropeanSpaceAgencyfortheNextGenerationGravityMission.Theformation consists oftwospacecraftswhich fly morethan200kmapartatanaltitudefromtheEarth'sgroundof between 300and400km.Theattitudecontrolmustkeeptheopticalaxesofthetwospacecraftaligned with amicroradianaccuracy(pointingcontrol).Thisismadepossiblebyspecific opticalsensors accompanyingtheinter-satellitelaserinterferometer,whichisthemainpayloadofthemission.These sensors alloweachspacecrafttoactuateautonomousalignmentafterasuitableacquisitionprocedure.
