In order to analyse the relationship between the reality of Italian cities and the Chinese framework (Turin and Shanghai as case studies), considering the field of the habitat and of the urban regeneration, here is presented an experience performed in the context of the cooperation of Politecnico di Torino and Tongji University. The aim is to underline the different constructive processes which inform both the urban contexts, considering the slow and incremental Italian transformation and the Chinese speed, and as well as the different peculiar approaches which are embedded in this processes, in terms of space, social relationships and market
