The aim of this study is to evaluate the environmental impact of an alternative process of lactic acid (LA) production. A comparative cradle-to-gate study was therefore conducted, wherein the Loopla process for the production of recycled LA from Polylactic acid (PLA) waste is compared to the process of fermentation from sugar beet.
