Il saggio tratta del ruolo svolto dallo storico anglo tedesco Nikolaus Pevsner quale promotore delle innovative politiche culturali che contraddistinsero la rivista mensile Architectural Review durante e dopo la seconda guerra mondiale: in particolare il titolo si riferisce all’interpretazione in chiave operativa della teoria del Pittoresco applicata ai programmi di ricostruzione delle città britanniche all’indomani del conflitto.
