La tesi riguarda la preparazione di montmorilloniti organofile attraverso adsorbimento di tensioattivi cationici e la loro caratterizzazione chimico-fisica. Le dispersioni acquose e in mezzo organico delle argille modificate sono state studiate attraverso ‘small angle neutron scattering’ Per tale studio è stata richiesta la messa a punto di un modello teorico per il trattamento degli spettri neutronici, a partire da preesistenti funzioni riguardanti particelle cilindriche. E’ stato possibile in tale modo interpretare i dati sperimentali e risalire alle dimensioni delle particelle prima e dopo l’adsorbimento di tensioattivi e allo spessore degli strati adsorbiti
