DESIGN OF AN AUTOMATED STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM (AS/RS)

This paper is about the design of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS). important design issues such as configuration of AS/RS and location policies are addressed. A new methodology is also developed and compared with two known location policies (dedicated and class based). The new methodology is then tested for 30 different data sets to confirm its validity.
