In this paper, the problem of balancing single assembly lines is considered. A new algorithm is proposed to improve the balance delay. The performance of the new algorithm is compared with three known algorithms. The algorithms are developed and implemented using Visual Basic. The new algorithm is tested and validated by using 100 different data sets. An illustrated example is given to explain the algorithms
