The article presents a review of the publications on ICT in schools and rural areas of Latin America (2002-2012). The text includes four analytical sections: reflection and research, study subtopics, main consensus, and singularities. The documents reflect the concern for the current state of rural schools, the instrumentalization of ICT and limited support to their teachers. Promising conceptual advances were found, from different disciplines. The socio-educational transformation is conditional to the sectorial public policies. We recommend taking a position to understand the everyday culture of ICT in rural schools.El artículo presenta la revisión de publicaciones sobre las TIC en zonas y escuelas rurales de Hispanoamérica (2002-2012).
