From the November 28, 1924, Bangor Daily News: A little investigation of the history of the Niben Club, Bangor\u27s famous suburban resort in the \u2790\u27s, recalled by the burning of the club house recently (November 11, 1924), shows that the club was organized July 13, 1897. Edward Stetson, Charles D. Crosby, and Hiram H. Fogg were appointed at committee to select a site and the land owned bu the late Hon. William Engel at the foot of Pushaw lake was secured.
