This thesis focuses on the notion of David Held\u27s cosmopolitan democracy. The basis of his theory is the problem of "the principle of autonomy" and globalization. The principle of autonomy is a perspective that comes from liberal democracy. According to Held, the principle of autonomy means that people must be free and equal existences to be able to determine their own conditions, as long as the framework is not used to violate the rights of others. The principle of autonomy is the core of project of democracy, and his notion of cosmopolitan democracy means the promotion of principle of autonomy at the global level.
