Cellular network optimization is extremely important to provide consumers with satisfactory signal strength and high coverage. For an optimized cellular network, the location of a cellphone tower is important. The location of cellular tower is influenced by geographic and demographic features. The objective of this research was to find best base station location in cellular network expansion. To achieve this objective, geographic information systems (GIS) software and nonlinear programming (NLP) technique was used. Geographical information system was used to find a location without any geographical hindrance. Non-linear programming technique was utilized to find an optimal location.
