In the United States over 200 million cars and trucks use its highway system and with this high usage comes a high accident rate. Among the causes of these accidents are weather conditions, surface conditions, road conditions, speed, the road geometry, obstruction, distracted driving, and inattention. Curved roads are more prone to accidents than other geometric designs. The purpose of this research is to investigate accidents on wet curves and analyze possible improvements to reduce the amount of accidents occurring. The primary cause of wet curve crashes is wet surface and poor surface friction. The analysis will provide better understanding of the accidents, their cause, and what factors go into the accidents.
