Among other factors, academic performance is affected by teacher and student motivation, individual student ability, school climate and parental participation in their students’ activities. The purpose of this study was to find out if there was any significant relationship between academic performance and parents’ expectation, family relationship, family socialization and parenting styles of secondary school students in Nandi Central District.
