AbstractMakroalga is a large algae with a thallus body structure and has a chlorophyll pigment. Macroalga has an important role in marine waters both ecologically and economically. This study aims to provide information about the diversity of macroalgae in the waters of the Hari Island and the wealth of macroalgae in South East Sulawesi. The study was conducted in the waters of Hari Island, South East Sulawesi from mei to juli 2016. The observation was done by observing all types of macroalgae found in the area traversed. The results of the study found that the number of macroalgae species consisted of 25 species consisting of 11 orders, 14 families, 17 genera.
