Studying land use/land cover change plays an important role in order to understand the economic, environmental and social consequences of the changes. The current study was conducted aiming to assess the temporal land use/land cover changes, Drivers of these changes and its implications on the environment and agro-pastoral communities. Remote sensing and GIS tools were used to detect the changes in land use/land cover between 1973 and 2012. Formal household survey and key informant interviews were employed to collect socioeconomic data.
