The water quality of Sombreiro river in the lower Delta Niger basin of Ikiri river system were study between December 2016 and February, 2017. There were significant differences (p < 0.05) in Dissolved Oxygen, while Temperature, pH, BOD, TSS, TDS, COD and Salinity were similar (p > 0.05) between the spatial grids. The values recorded ranged from 23.5 – 26.10C (Temperature), 4.68 – 5.9mg/L (Dissolved oxygen), 14.80 – 18.97mg/L (Bological Oxygen Demand), 29.35 – 31.15mg/L (Chemical Oxygen Demand), 5.52 – 6.13 (pH), 7.25 – 8.25mg/L (TDS), 6.00 – 7.50mg/L (TSS) and Salinity (722 – 25.37‰). There were obvious fluctuation in the ecogical variables (p < 0.05) except DO concentrations that were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). ...
