The aim of this article is to evaluate historical trends in the history of radio and television and their role or otherwise in national development. The article titled; From Analogue to Digital Broadcasting: The Historical Foundation of Radio and Television for National Development in Nigeria has been examined from five perspectives-how radio and television have been embraced in Nigeria, the present status of radio and television in Nigeria; the ideal status for radio and television as media for national development in a developing and democratic country like Nigeria.
