The importance of the protection of children can never be overemphasized. In times of peace they need protection how much more in war times or in situations of displacement. Displacement and its consequences affect children adversely. The reason is that children are vulnerable and therefore need special protection. The objective of this article is to expose the contentious issues inherent in the protection of children in situations of displacement. Viz: what legal frameworks are in place for the protection of children, are the available frameworks adequate?
