Education is an important aspect that determines the direction of a nation. The implication, it needs serious efforts in order to increase the participation in education; one of them is measured by the APK (GER). The purpose of this study is to determine the presence of GER in Pacitan and how the efforts of acceleration can be done to achieve the government's target of GER of 97% in 2020. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, and conducted during the months of January to March 2015. The results show that GER presence in Pacitan is still low.
