This paper discusses the strengths and prospects of decentralization of secondary school management in Tanzania with the focus on Dodoma Municipality. The paper presents findings on how decentralization has improved the working and living conditions of teachers. The study employed a qualitative approach with some aspects of quantitative. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaire, documentary review, and focused group discussions. The findings from Dodoma Municipality revealed that decentralization has increased the number of classrooms, student desks, text books, laboratory apparatus and chemicals in secondary schools.
