The study investigated the effects of five-step (5E) learning cycle model on the students understanding of concepts related to elasticity. 100 students participated in answering questions on the concepts in physics concept test. The students’ responses were analyzed in accordance with their views. Through their responses, it was found that most students held alternative conceptions of the concepts related to elasticity as shown in part one before the treatment. After the treatment, it was also observed that some students had scientific understanding of the concepts under study while very few of them still maintained their prior conceptions. In view of the findings, conclusion and implication for teaching physics are made. Keywords: understa...
