The study deals with the role of motivation on academic staff performance in Tanzania Public Universities whereby intrinsic and extrinsic facets of motivation were underpinned. The case study design was employed in which Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MUCCoBS) now known as Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) was cased. The data on perceptions and contribution of motivational aspects to academic staff performance was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The study revealed both intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of motivation play undeniable role in boosting academic staff performance.
