The objective of the work was to determine the effects of polycarboxilated-type admixture on the setting times and the rheological properties of different types of cements including CEM I 42.5 R, CEM Il/B-V 42.5 N and CEM III/B 32.5 N, defined according to the UNE EN 197-1:2000 standard. The results show that there is a lineal relationship between the initial setting times and the admixture dosage. Mathematical equations that model this behaviour for each of the cements have been determined. The data obtained from the minislump test and from the rheological parameters determined using the rheometer (plastic viscosity and yield stress) point to similar conclusions.
