This file provides the body temperature of four aardvarks (Orycteropus afer) recorded in 2012-2013 in the South African Kalahari (Tswalu Game Reserve) and black globe temperature measured on site. Data were recorded at a 30 min interval. Body temperature was recorded using miniaturized data logger implanted surgically. Three of the aardvarks died during the course of the study, one did survive the planned year
